Have you ever looked at a blank sheet of paper and felt inspired? I love to sit down with a blank notepad, ready to be filled with ideas and thoughts. And in a way, this blog is my virtual notepad! I've had the blog for a while now, and finally decided that it was time to dive in, and get writing!

First things first - my name is Suzi. I'm a 20 year old Scottish crafter with an excess of passion and goals! It became apparent to me when I finished college last year that I needed to find an outlet for my passion and a focus for my ambition - and so The Present Day was born! For some time I had dreamed of being able to sell the results of my crafting passion, and with so much time on my hands while I was job hunting, it seemed to perfect time to turn fantasy into reality. I set to work researching e-commerce and soon found Etsy. In August 2010 my first listings went online, and about 5 weeks later I logged into my account to encounter, for the very first time, that sensational feeling of having made a sale! I've been hooked ever since!

The Present Day focuses on attractive, unique gifts for a special someone. Or, customers may even decide to treat themselves! We all need to indulge ourselves sometimes, afterall. I take great pleasure and pride in producing high quality products for sale, and my ultimate aim is 100% customer satisfaction!

But why start a blog too? There are many reasons, but I have one particular reason for taking the plunge into blogging, and it's this. Since beginning to sell on Etsy, I have felt that in opening a shop I was merely scratching the surface of what is available in this community! The online community which has been built around art, crafting, Etsy and so on is so fascinating, vibrant and exhilarating - who wouldn't want to be a part of it? There is always something happening, and I no longer felt content to merely stand on the sidelines and watch. I want to find my place in that community, and give to it as much as I receive from it! And for that reason, I'd suggest you keep an eye out for much more to come - giveaways, features, critiques and reviews to name but a few!

I would love to get my followers involved in this blog as much as possible! So leave me a comment and let me know about your shop or blog, or make a suggestion of something you'd like to see on this blog! And remember, stay tuned for much more coming soon!

Have a great weekend, everyone!
- Suzi
